San Ginesio

Casa Colle is ready to be used. Casa Colle is located in a tiny, quiet Borgo of San Ginesio called Colle. It’s built over three floors and boasts three big bedrooms, a contemporary eat-in kitchen, an intimate living room with exposed stone walls and country fireplace, a bathroom (note that there’s a plan to add a 2nd bathroom), storage niche and a utility room with washer/dryer. The floors are old “cotto” tile and the beams are lovely. They even copied the old style wires that used to adorn the old farmhouses. The stairway is at least 100 years old. It’s really a beautifully done house. Interestingly, the house was featured in an extremely positive light a few short years ago on the TV program “A Place in the Sun”. They confirmed the house’s charm and intimacy.

Casa Colle comes with a small plot of land in back that’s been converted to a beautiful stone terrace with a really unique cascading fountain in which you can actually sit and enjoy a refreshing drink while cooling off in the summer sun. What this means is that you don’t have a big plot of land to maintain. Plus, the terrace is very private and has a big granite and wrought iron table at which I have had the pleasure of dining. With potted plants, flowers and herbs, plus several large candles, a summer’s evening on the terrazzo is first rate, fabulous & private.

Casa Colle is perfectly situated – walk to a small grocery and a great coffee and wine bar, whose young proprietor is a renowned expert on Marche wines. Plus, you are located within 10 minutes of two great towns for shopping, dining and sightseeing – San Ginesio and Sarnano.

Please note that the only perceived negative of Casa Colle could be that a white road runs outside the front of the house. However, traffic is virtually non-existent (you could ask the neighbors to verify this), plus the white road is ideal for strolling and immediately takes you into the heart of a forest of chestnut trees (roast the proceeds in the fireplace!).
